“Grapefruit and tea, please” said Abby.
“Just toast and coffee for me,” smiled Claudia.
“Breakfast Special,” chorused a coalition of Connor, Stephen and Ryan. Accompanied by more toast and enough coffee to float a battleship.
Cutter sighed wistfully and opted for scrambled eggs instead.
The waitress scribbled something unintelligible on her notepad whilst contriving to combine expectant and bored into a seamless whole that would have impressed even Lester if he’d been present.
This particular Little Chef was doing really quite well out of the Permian Anomaly in the Forest of Dean.
The Home Office expenses budget was less fortunate.

Date: 2008-08-02 11:38 am (UTC)I dread to think how Lester explains some of their expense budgets - 'Yes, we need a new jeep because the old one has teeth marks in the bonnet, and dinosaur blood stains in the back seat. And the slight smell of urine? Yes, unfortunately Temple was also in the back seat at the time.'
You really are on a roll with the drabbles. I'm about to get in on the party as well, but I still have the lurgy, so drabbles are about all I can manage this week.
