“Grapefruit and tea, please” said Abby.
“Just toast and coffee for me,” smiled Claudia.
“Breakfast Special,” chorused a coalition of Connor, Stephen and Ryan. Accompanied by more toast and enough coffee to float a battleship.
Cutter sighed wistfully and opted for scrambled eggs instead.
The waitress scribbled something unintelligible on her notepad whilst contriving to combine expectant and bored into a seamless whole that would have impressed even Lester if he’d been present.
This particular Little Chef was doing really quite well out of the Permian Anomaly in the Forest of Dean.
The Home Office expenses budget was less fortunate.
